A Curated List Of Resources That Actually Help
Note: Some of the resources below are free, while others are investments. I am not an affiliate for any of these products and I receive no financial benefit from sharing them. These are simply tools I have used, vetted, and found helpful for my own brain and the brains I work with. This is, obviously, not an exhaustive list. It is, however, a good place to start. Have resources YOU'D like to share? Use the form below to send me your favorite ADHD resources, fidget toys and tools.
ADDitude Magazine

This is one of my favorite resources and a great place to start after a new diagnosis.

CHADD

Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) is the nation's leading nonprofit organization serving people affected by ADHD.

Duke Center for Girls & Women with ADHD

This is a great resource for women and girls with ADHD (because we know ADHD shows up differently for the ladies).

ADHD LOVE

Rich and Rox Pink are a super fun couple from the UK who share how autism and ADHD show up in life and love. Their videos are incredibly funny and can help you find a bit of humor (and recognition) in your diagnosis.

Holderness Family ADHD Fun

Penn and Kim Holderness are the geniuses behind the Holderness Family music, videos, podcasts and books. Penn has ADHD, Kim does not, and their song and dance numbers will leave you in stitches. One of the things I love about their messages is how easily you can see yourself in them. These are great to share with your non-ADHD partner.

ADHD is AWESOME

This fabulous book is #1 on Amazon for books on Children with Disabilities and it highlights the upsides of ADHD (and if you don't already know, there are, indeed lots of upsides).

what adhd feels like with jaklin levine-pritzker

We Can Do Hard Things is one of my favorite podcasts and I loved this episode. Particularly with a new diagnosis, it can feel very validating to hear someone else talk about their ADHD experience and realize it sounds JUST LIKE YOU!

ADHD In Women & Girls with Dr. Jennifer Gierisch & Dr. Julia Schechter

Penn and Kim Holderness hosted Drs Gierisch and Schechter for a conversation on ADHD in women and girls and it was fantastic! This is a great one to listen to in the car, while washing dishes, cleaning the bathroom, etc.

PODCASTS

Apple, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon... whatever your podcast pleasure, go there and search ADHD. There will be a lot to choose from, and that may be overwhelming, but poke around and see what looks interesting. I've linked Apple Podcasts, because that's what I use, but obviously you use your favorite.

Fidget Toys
There is a whole host of amazing fidget toys out there. I need quiet toys so they're not distracting to others while I use them, but there are also a number of fidget tools out there that provide a nice "click" or other sound that is VERY satisfying! Do you have a favorite? Fill out the form below and I'll add it to the page.
Needoh Gumdrop

If we're talking, there's a good chance I have this little beauty in my hands. I prefer the gumdrop over the typical NeeDoh cubes because of the extra sensory experience that comes from the texture.

Torus Ring SEt

This accupressure ring is one of my favorite fidget items! I purchased mine from Shakti, which is why I'm offering that link, but you can search for "acupressure ring" and find similar rings for sale in a variety of online shops.

Tools
If you're anything like me, you have loads of unused planners in a pile somewhere, so we know that planners don't always (or for some, ever) work. So you aren't going to find much like that here. But I am going to share some of the tools that I have found to be helpful in a variety of ways. Help this section grow by sharing your favorite tools.
60-minute visual timer

You know how we sometimes lose track of time? This timer has been incredibly helpful for me. It may not help in all instances of "time blindness," but if you set a timer this one is fabulous because a quick glance at your timer gives you a clear visual cue about whether or not you're on track.

Hexagon Rotating Productivity Clock

This clock is fabulous for quickly setting a timer and getting a visual countdown. I love this when my kiddos and I are going to do a quick cleanup- set the timer (by turning it to the time you want) and work until it goes off. It's FUN! It's EASY!

Share What You Love

You know what they say, sharing is caring! If you have a favorite resource or tool, share them using the form below and I'll add them to our resource page.
